Loch Discourses
Hi,
I am a year 4 student studying BA Social Sciences based at Perth College. This is my first ever experience of blogging and it's not as scary as I thought it would be. I'm looking forward to adding to my posts every week. It seems to be a good way to chart my progress. From my initial photographic efforts, things can only get better!!!
Rule of Thirds
The rule of thirds pictures here are "before" and "after" shots of how not to, and then how to, take a good photograph. I don't rate mine too highly, but at least it's a start and I finally grasped the concept. The pictures I took later were much better, I think! I also had issues keeping my "models" in the same pose! In this first picture, I took the kind of picture that I would normally take with the subjects in the middle of the frame.
Following the "rule of thirds" I then tried to take a photo with the rabbits on one of the intersection points, creating a more pleasing and stronger image.
This "before" picture is very messy with lots of clutter surrounding the rabbit enclosure.
The "after" picture, however, is not much better. I tried to place the rabbit enclosure and the trampoline on two of the intersection points but there was too much clutter with the bench on the other side. However, my tutor was able to use this photo to show me how cropping it from top to bottom, left of middle, would improve the picture. So although I am unhappy with my pictures on the whole, I have learned more about how to improve them.
This concludes my first week's attempt at making a blog!
